The Magician, The Emperor, King of Wands + Outsider

For the days ahead, you may find yourself in more of a “devil-may-care” mindset. Not to say that you are risking it all without complete consideration, but more in the sense that your fears and worries are no longer a hindrance to your pursuits. What would have had you immediately tucking your tail and running the other way before is now somewhat of an afterthought. Perhaps you have even grown to appreciate and embrace a good challenge.

The Magician is a card often seen as the ability to manifest one’s true will. What is created is a reflection of the resourcefulness and cunning one must employ to bring an idea to life. Lately, you may have found yourself reconsidering your dreams of the future and have maybe discovered that you were not aiming high enough. Is it so crazy to admit that you have the capacity to want more than what is currently at your feet? Rather than letting the desire consume you to the point of inaction and disillusionment, let it guide and inspire your next move. What might you achieve if you knew that success was guaranteed?

With that being said, The Emperor reminds us that having agency does not mean being completely free of restrictions. Power without wisdom or maturity can often lead to disaster. Perhaps what you have been asking for has been within your reach all along, however, the million dollar question is – Can you handle it? If you were to finally receive or experience “ideal” conditions, would you be disciplined or committed enough to maintain what you built? Or would it crumble at the first sign of inconvenience? Instead of second guessing yourself, take this week to consider what you are willing to provide in exchange for what it is you are asking.

You might be saying to yourself, “I know I deserve the best of the best! This has nothing to do with me!” but consider again, are you truly putting your best foot forward with every opportunity? The King of Wands seeks no reassurance or empty accolades. A hard pill to swallow might be that if you feel like you are not doing enough then perhaps it may be time to re-evaluate and take a different approach. Sometimes trying “harder” is not the right answer either. The key is the quality of effort. Consider if you might be spreading yourself too thin again or if what you have been pursuing is even necessary to the larger plan.

Lastly, another common conundrum you might be facing is accepting the necessity of being a part of a greater whole, yet never quite feeling like you have been able to merge or coalesce in a way that feels nurturing to your spirit. As if within fingers reach, but always separated by some invisible wall that keeps you from feeling seen or even understood. Think of it this way – If there is a deep-seated desire to be fully experienced, you must be willing to bear it all and also release offense if you are not accepted. Can you think of anyone in your life that you have not found at least one thing to have a word about? Not a single person (including yourself) is perfect. Perhaps the true work for this week is to consider all of what makes you an Outsider. Then also take some time to reflect on all the other people who you know are outsiders that you appreciate. What qualities or experiences separate you from the status quo, yet allows you to connect with others similar to you?

As always, take what resonates and leave the rest. Have a blessed week! 🙂
